Production & Aftersales Supervisor

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

§ To support the client’s Ghana growth in Sub-Saharan Africa by achieving country targets and to manage SKD assembly operations, aftersales and implement excellence processes that influence quality and volume outputs as well as to drive Shop Floor Management processes within the area of control.

 

§ Support and manage aftersales activities

§ To manage a team of operators and technicians to ensure that targets are met.

QUALIFICATION/ EDUCATIONAL :
§ Post-Tertiary Education i.e. Diploma in Production Management /Operations Management/Industrial Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification.

 

§ Have a minimum of 3-5 years production experience or significant experience in an SKD assembly production related and aftersales experience.

§ Minimum of 5 years Leadership experience

SKILLS:
§ Leadership qualities to handle a broad spectrum of people and to interface successfully with different levels (including management) and departments.

 

§ Ability to co-ordinate people

§ Ability to make decisions

§ Knowledge of modern automotive production processes in order to determine future optimization and/or past failures.

§ Analytical and problem-solving skills.

§ Excellent communication ability, both orally and written

§ Ability to ensure the company’s commitment to integrity and strategic objectives

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Lead and manage SKD assembly operations and aftersales in order to achieve a excellence performance and business focused targets

 

§ Manage teams in order to ensure a smooth production operation

§ Identify, address and resolve any barriers that may hinder performance, i.e. policies, procedures, GADP practices etc.

§ Ensure that employees reporting to you understand their role in terms of targets, quality, throughput, maintenance and costs.

§ Ensure that workers receive accurate, useful and timeous information on their actual performance vs. targets.

§ Coordinate with retailers, sales and finance to meet operational requirements.

§ Ensure that the workers are equipped with the correct/effective tools to do the job.

§ Drive continuous improvements in all processes.

§ Manage the full shift to achieve the required KPI’s, (Quality, Volume, Safety etc.).

§ Conduct daily Shop Floor Management (SFM) meetings to discuss the item on the board and how these will be resolved (limited to own SFM area and team)

§ Conduct shift handover at the start and the end of a shift to ensure that all Quality related issues are understood and supplier related concerns are addressed.

§ Control scrap, rework, and take responsibility for the reduction thereof by means of monitoring, corrective and preventative action.

§ Manage complaints and the development of people effectively.

§ Set objectives; perform appraisals and control performance behaviour of group leaders.

§ Assist hiring and disciplining of employees as well as the transferring of employees according to the relevant HR policies.

§ Take responsibility for shift related Safety and Housekeeping (limited to own section).

§  Monitor recurring defects and work back to source.

§ Assist in repair areas with Technical knowledge, expertise and coaching on how to repair faulty units, to reduce the number of off-line units.

§ Report reasons for losses and recommend corrective action.

§ Participate in daily/Weekly Production Meetings and Audits.

§ Ensure sound application of VDA 6.1 and ISO 14001 principals.
