A church is looking for a
BookKeeper/Accounts Officer M/F
(male preferred)
Location: Mamprobi, Accra
Prefer an elder gentleman 30-40 yrs old– but not a must
.
JOB DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOUNTS OFFICER
- Receive the monthly financial report from the various assemblies and update the database accurately.
- Generate the monthly and quarterly report out of the monthly information received from the various assemblies and send same to the Finance Board through the General Secretary every month.
- Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation statement for all Accounts that the Church holds and report to the Finance Board.
- Give bi-weekly financial position (income & expenditure) of the active account to the Board via the General Secretary
- Keep records and prepare monthly report of all tithes from various assemblies and ensure that all pay in-slips are properly filed.
- Ensure to get approval from various authorities before making all payments or procuring goods and services.
- Ensure that petty cash is accurately managed, all payments must come with accompanying receipt except otherwise approved by the various authorities.
- Always request for three or minimum two proforma invoices before requesting for approval to procure.
- You may be travelling on errand by yourself, with a team or with the Finance Board to the various Areas/District as and when the duty demands to conduct auditing.
- Capture all transactions on real time into the church’s accounting software and ensure that the final account is prepared at the end of every financial year
- Assist to ensure that an effective internal audit system is maintained at the Head Office
- and other branch offices of the Church, e g Area, Zonal and District Offices
- Assist in end of year audit of the General Accounts of the Church including those of the Headquarters, the Area, District and Zonal offices
- Assist to undertake monthly appraisal of Budget performance of the area heads and Head Office.
- Assist to submit to the Executive Council and the Finance Board the Audit Reports and action taken thereon, the Balance Sheets and Accounts for each financial year.
- Any other assignments that may be assigned to you as and when necessary

Minimum Qualifications
ideally 3 years of accounting experience
Minimum HND in BookKeeping or Accounting or Finance
Excellent Knowledge of MS Office & especially Excel
Analytical and Detail-oriented – mature thinker please
Strong work ethic, team player, time management skills, and Organizational skills
And of course an aaaamazing personality and respect for all colleagues

Salary
Target Salary is 1.800 – 2.000 net depending of experience and skillset.
